Day one is a course which meets US Sailing requirements and World Sailing Category 1 and 2. Day two is an optional day of hands-on practice which meets the highest World Sailing standards, Category 0. Participation in the second day is limited to 70 participants and spots are quickly disappearing.
Day One topics include Crew Health, Marine Weather, Emergency Communications, Care & Maintenance of Safety Gear, Crew Overboard, Personal Safety Gear, Heavy Weather & Storm Sails. Day Two will be a hands-on experience with Life Raft Boarding, EPIRBS and PLBS, Life Jacket Rearming, Flare Deployment, Wound Management and Splinting as well as a discussion on Drowning and Hypothermia.
This is one of the most valuable experiences for all sailors. Whether you cross the ocean or sail in the harbor, there is something for all of us to learn.
